Nevada Heavy Haul Trucking FAQ
What kind of permits will I need to transport cargo through Nevada?
The driver of an oversized load needs to obtain a permit from the state of Nevada. Super load carriers will also need special permits.
Operating time regulations also apply to oversize load weekend travel except in restricted areas. Night travel and holiday travel must also be requested from the Nevada Department of Transportation.
When you work with Titan for your trucking needs, our truck drivers will take care of all the permitting needs required to ship your load through Nevada, as well any other states the shipment will be transported through. That means no delays, no fines, and no hassle for our clients! Our team goes the extra mile to ensure a safe and on-time delivery.
Will I need an escort to transport my cargo through Nevada?
Escort requirements are determined by the final size of your shipment. At a minimum, all oversize loads/vehicles in excess of 8′-6″ width must display “Oversize Load” on both front and rear. Loads that exceed a 4′ overhang should display flag.
If oversized loads are traveling on one of Nevada’s interstates or 4 lane highways, one escort is required for lengths over 110′, width over 14′, or height over 15’6″ (requires one high-pole escort). Two escorts are required for widths over 16′ and 14′ on two lane highways.
Our team is committed to making the process hassle-free for our customers. Our truck drivers will make all the arrangements if pilot cars are needed for any of the locations your cargo will travel through the United States, Canada or Mexico.
What's considered an oversized load in Nevada?
In Nevada, the legal dimensions for standard trucks and loads, including overhang, are 53′ long, 8’6″ wide, and 18′ high, with a gross weight ranging from 80,000.
Unlike many states across the nation, Nevada does not have a maximum overhang for a permitted load, however oversize permits are at the state’s discretion.
Titan Worldwide has experience working with the rules and regulations of Nevada. Our logistics team will create a tailored shipping solution so you don’t have to worry about anything.

What kind of trailers do you have for handling heavy equipment?
Our specialty is transporting heavy construction, agriculture, oilfield goods, and other types of equipment and materials throughout Nevada and across the country. Our solutions, resources, and trucking equipment are tailored to the specific needs of each business.
For example, a common option in our heavy haul fleet are our flatbed trailers, which offer a maximum weight of 48,000 pounds.
For many super loads, we’ll utilize our removable gooseneck RGN trailer. The maximum weight of this trailer is over 150,000 pounds. This option is ideal for very large items over the maximum height for hauling inside a trailer.
No matter what specialized transportation is required —whether a gooseneck, flatbed, or one of our step deck trailers—our team will match your unique cargo to the best trailer for the job, and guarantee to load and deliver it safely and professionally.
