Our Inland Transportation Services & Capabilities
Titan Worldwide provides reliable inland transportation services for both local and long-distance deliveries. We can arrange pick-up and delivery for full truckloads (FTL), less than truckloads (LTL), as well as heavy haul shipments that won’t fit in standard shipping containers.
Drayage
Whether you need trucking services as part of an intermodal inland move, or your shipment just needs to be transported from the port to your door, Titan’s drayage services will get your shipment where it needs to go.
Over-the-Road Trucking
Titan’s transportation services are not limited to local deliveries. We can arrange your long-distance hauls (known as “over-the-road” trucking) to destinations in the U.S. and Canada.
Heavy-Haul Deliveries
Titan specializes in transporting heavy equipment, heavy machinery, and other types of oversized loads that have unique safety and equipment requirements.
LTL Consolidation
Your shipment volume may not justify the cost of a full truckload. Titan’s services include freight consolidation (or “load consolidation services”), where your load shares the ride with others like yours for a more affordable delivery.

Inland Transportation FAQ
What is the inland transportation process?
Inland transportation can include various modes of transportation, such as rail, inland waterways, pipelines, or truck transport. Titan’s transportation services can integrate with your complex intermodal move or simply handle pick-up and delivery of your shipment to or from a port.
What are inland freight charges?
Inland freight or “inland haulage” costs are charged by carriers to transport goods domestically — whether delivering imported shipments from a port to a buyer, taking goods to a port to be exported, or simply moving goods between two inland locations. The total cost will vary widely depending on the type of load, the distance being traveled, and fuel and labor costs.
How do I pick up a shipment from a port?
Once your shipment has been unloaded from the vessel or aircraft, all owed charges are paid, and it is released by Customs, it will be made available at the port and will have to be picked up within an allotted amount of time (or detention and demurrage charges will be incurred). Some buyers are able to pick up their shipments themselves if they have the right equipment, but most will want to work with a trusted logistics company. If you are responsible for arranging the delivery of the shipment, you can hire a domestic freight forwarding company, freight broker, or trucking company to take your shipment from the terminal to its final destination.
What is inland freight transportation?
Inland freight transportation refers to the movement of goods by land within a country using various modes of transport such as trucks, trains, and pipelines. Unlike overseas or air freight, which involves transporting goods across international borders or through the air, inland freight focuses on domestic routes. This form of transportation is crucial for the seamless distribution of products and plays a pivotal role in supporting a country’s economy and infrastructure. It ensures that goods, from raw materials to finished products, are moved efficiently and safely to their destinations. The choice between trucking or rail often depends on the nature and urgency of the cargo, distance to be covered, and specific delivery requirements. With increasing emphasis on reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable logistics, many companies are continuously seeking ways to optimize their inland freight operations for efficiency and environmental friendliness.
What does an inland cargo transfer company do?
An inland cargo transfer company is responsible for the domestic transportation and handling of goods. They use various modes such as trucks, railways, and barges to move commodities, ensuring efficient logistics and adherence to regulatory requirements within a country’s interior regions.
